Momma and Daddy are Coming!!!

Yes you read correctly.  We are officially going to Haiti to wrap our arms around our babies!!!  1 year and 7 months ago we began this journey; and to know today that in 3 weeks I will kiss those sweet cheeks makes me burst at the seams with joy.  We will leave Sunday, August 4th and return Saturday, August 10th.  Honestly I can't believe it's real.  I'm still afraid I'm gonna wake up.  Also, for those of you wondering, we will return without our boys.  Yes that crushes me, but I can't let that steal my joy right now.  We've known this was the case from the beginning, (that's why I had a hard time saying yes at first); but God has repeatedly reminded us "I called you to Haiti and I will hold your hand through the joy and the pain."    

This entire process is about the gospel of Jesus Christ anyway.  Right now as I try to take it all in my thoughts turn toward our God.  I wonder if our Father's conversation with Jesus before His first visit to earth went something like this, "Son, it's time.  Time to go visit my children for a while.  Embrace every moment.  Make known Our love for them.  This trip will not be easy but it will give them hope for the rest of their lives.  And before you leave make sure they know that You will not leave them as orphans, that You will come back for them."

Father, I'm humbled and honored that You have chosen us to walk this road with you.  Thank You for joy beyond measure right now.  Thank you for the whispers of hope as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
