So today has been a month since all this goodness!!!
Time is moving so fast these days, but we are all settling into our new normal. We've had ups and we've had downs. We've had the best giggles and the worst tantrums. I know every FAMILY can relate. Oh the blessing though!!! Precious moments like these are the ones that you just tuck away in your heart and treasure forever. These are the moments I day-dreamed about for so long.
Last night I went back to the very beginning. That Sunday when Dave Wood from Lifeline Children's Services read his poem entitled "The Other Boy." (You can read it here http://blog.lifelinechild.org/international-director/the-other-boy/ ) That's the day when Gary came home and said, "I'm ready to adopt," and mentioned "two and twins." He decided that day that we couldn't leave a friend behind.
As I re-live the moment we left Three Angels, tears begin to flow again...
At one of the most precious moments in our lives, our hearts were so full of joy as well as heartache. We still left FRIENDS behind.
This still troubles me daily. I love these precious babies with all my heart. They are each waiting on their adoption processes to be finalized so their families can bring them HOME too. Please pray with me right now that their processes would MOVE; that God would do amazing things for them in the very near future. Please pray for their families as they wait out this very hard journey to such great reward.
Reward!!! 1 Corinthians 2:9 says "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him." Each visit to see my boys was painful because I knew they didn't belong there. They belonged at HOME with us. Just like as children of our Abba Father, we don't belong here - we belong at HOME with Him. Not for the "stuff" Heaven has to offer but because of WHO Heaven has to offer - JESUS!!! Our boys didn't need our house, this food, nor these clothes or toys, they needed US - the LOVE of a FAMILY - a Daddy, Mommy, and two big sisters. And oh boy did we need THEM!!! "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined," all that awaits us as a FAMILY.
May our desire for our Lord Jesus and our Abba Father drive us to press on daily to a LOVE that blows us away and a HOME with our FAMILY that awaits us. This adoption has brought the gospel to life for me like never before. If the Lord ever lays even the slightest hint of desire to adopt on your heart please seek Him sincerely. It would be one of the most wonderful gifts you could ever give yourself, spiritually and physically. It is not an easy journey but "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has planned for those who love Him." It's good, so very good!!!
